Opening night and film announced!

The 2024 IFS season kicks off in just less than a month, with Uproar on 11 February.

Released in 2023, Uproar is a New Zealand coming-of-age drama-comedy film starring Julian Dennison (Hunt for the Wilderpeople), Rhys Darby (Yes Man) and Minnie Driver (Good Will Hunting).

Based on the political and social unrest in Wellington in the 80’s amidst the controversial Springbok rugby tour, Uproar follows a 17 year-old boy forced to clamber off the fence he has actively sat on all his life to stand up for himself, his Maori family and his future.

“a warmhearted ensemble piece about loss, trauma, family, isolation, and standing up for yourself” –X-Press
